Following the alleged disappearance of more than N2 billion naira from the coffers of the University of Ilorin, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) will quiz the institution's immediate vice-chancellor, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede and the incumbent, Prof. Abdulganiyu Ambali. It was learnt that the leadership of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), petitioned the anti-graft agency against the management of the foremost institution in Nigeria. Oloyede was recently appointment registrar of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) but his appointment by President Muhammadu Buhari has been protested against by ASUU. Its a ridiculous celebration though as teachers were not informed about the modalities of celebration, students were not exempted as well. In a dramatic turn of event, former Military President, Gen. Ibrahim Babangida, allegedly disowned a statement in which his aide Kassim Afegbua quoted him as asking President Muhammadu Buhari to drop his re-election bid over some negative realities in the polity.
